2022 Puerto Plata Golf Classic
The 2022 Puerto Plata Golf Classic is back, an international event that draws players from the local and international scene. With the aim of continuing to arouse national and international interest in Puerto Plata as a tourist destination, the Association of Hotels, Restaurants and Tourist Companies of the North Zone (Ashonorte) announced the celebration of the 9th edition of the Puerto Plata Golf Classic. The ninth edition organized by the institution will be held on August 19 and 20 at the facilities of the Puerto Plata Golf Club in Playa Dorada.
The information was offered by the president of the institution, Mr. Carlos Rodoli, who was accompanied by executives from the Puerto Plata Golf Club, as well as from the Playa Dorada Golf Course, and members of the ASHONORTE board of directors.
The participation of more than 200 players is expected, including a delegation from Puerto Rico and golfers from different national clubs. “For this year we wanted to innovate, with the realization of a night tournament that will be played on Friday the 19th on Par 3 of hole #7, using contact light balls and where the participants will be able to enjoy a social and camaraderie environment”, Rodolí expressed in his speech.
For his part, Mr. Américo Núñez, Director of the Puerto Plata Golf Course, explained that the tournament will be held on August 19 and 20 at the Playa Dorada golf course and that, like the previous edition, the categories will be named of the municipalities of the province. Category A will bear the name of Puerto Plata, category B Sosúa, Category C Cabarete and the ladies with the name of La Isabela, the modality to play will be Stableford/Best ball, added Núñez.
For her part, the executive director, Kathy Morillo, thanked the sponsors for their support and recalled that part of the tournament funds are used to develop the social awareness program against sexual exploitation of children and adolescents (CIENAVYT), which has been held since December 2020. The tournament, which is already a classic in the north, will be endorsed by FEDOGOLF and will have great surprises and prizes for the participants. Sosua villa rentals are available for participants, and also the beach resorts in Playa Dorada and Sosua.

Registration payment must be made effective by July 31, 2022.
Players with more than 24 handicap will register with a maximum of 24.
Registrations are guaranteed with the payment of the tournament.
