Sosua Beaches

Sosua beaches are the main reason this town is visited by thousands of travelers each year, both from the Dominican Republic other cities and abroad. The natural beauty, friendly people, turquoise blue crystalline waters and the many available water activities make this one of the top travel destinations inside the Puerto Plata region.

Snorkeling and diving in Sosua beach is so popular that there are many diving sites established on the beach, also tour operators that rent snorkel gear. Its many bars, restaurants and gift shops also offer great advantages in this public beach. Alicia Beach is right next door, offering breath taking views, food and drink delivery straight to the loungers from 2 excellent rated restaurants, and a laid back, peaceful atmosphere.

The Casa Marina beach feels great for a change, though watch the non swimmers as the swell easily draws you to the deeper end; good to know there is a watch tower with lifeguard from the resort. Imbert beach shifted a lot the past several years, and a private resort there built a jetty that recovered part of the beach.

Playa Chiquita is as tiny as its name implies. It also is deeper when the tide rises – as it is open ocean, so beware. Sosua Ocean Village beach enjoys the benefits of a gated community with lots of amenities that include restaurants, bars, a full gym, spa, water park, kids playground and much more.

El Tablon beach is more an organic tour of Sosua than an actual beach, great to learn about the local fishermen, buy fresh catch and take amazing photos. Piergiorgio beach is the tiniest and youngest of all Sosua beaches, born in July 2017. It is a small sandbank under the Pergiorgio hotel, right next to Sosua beach.

Sosua Villa rentals are available near all these beaches, also villas and condos for sale in various similar communities with beach and oceanfront real estate.
